Jamil McGhee grew up in Philadelphia, PA where he first visited the zoo as a child and went on to become a graduate of Drexel University.

The Illustrator:
Thomas McAteer is a graduate of West Chester University and studied multimedia design at University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He is the illustrator behind numerous picture books. He currently lives with his family in Philadelphia, PA.
